Women in Business Champion of the Year
Local businesswoman Barbara Baros is the State Sales Coordinator for Aflac Texas Central. Barbara has been awarded the Champion for Women in Business due to her dedication to inspiring other businesswomen to strive for success. Barbara is a native of Corpus Christi, and joined Aflac in 1974. Her love for people and talent for building relationships made her a perfect fit for the company. She built her business from the ground up. Starting as a sales associate, she eventually worked her way become the State Sales Coordinator in Texas Central in 2005. In addition to being an outstanding businesswoman, Barbara also works to help improve the lives of others. Not only is Barbara an advocate for the Aflac Children’s Cancer Center in Atlanta, Georgia, she dedicates her time to help other women succeed. During late 2007, Barbara gave a motivational speech to 250 local businesswomen at the Voices Unidas Women’s Forum that was held by the Corpus Christi Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. Barbara exemplifies the drive and tenacity that is needed to be a successful leader, and her commitment to encouraging women to push the limits makes her a true champion for women in business.
