Robert Skinner - Bishop RV Center

Robert Skinner is the proud owner of Bishop RV Center LLC, a full-service dealership. Robert has been awarded small business person of the year due his ingenuity, hard work and perseverance which have provided him with the opportunity to live the American dream of owning his own business. Today Robert runs his own R.V. dealership, but the road to success has been long and challenging. Robert received his Bachelors degree in Industrial Distribution from the University of Houston, and shortly thereafter, began his 20 year career in the R.V. business as a production manager for Fleetwood Enterprises. Robert’s career took off, and he quickly moved up the management chain, but this required that he relocate often. With a young family, he felt a burning desire to relocate back to Texas. Robert eventually became general manager of the Bishop Mobile Center. From August 1994 until May of 2007, he oversaw all operations of the R.V. dealership, watching it grow from a 1 million to 5 million a year operation. In 2007, Robert was presented with the unique opportunity of actually owning the business he had been running and grooming for the past decade. With the help from volunteer business consultants at SCORE Corpus Christi, he was to able purchase the business, and become a successful entrepreneur. Robert has positioned the Bishop RV Center for growth, and will continue to provide a positive economic impact on the local Coastal Bend community.
